Brandt Donates to H.E.R.O.S.

Accidents happen, and when people get hurt, the time it takes to get them to hospital can mean the difference between life and death.

Brandt recognizes that risk and through its Thanks a Billion program, has donated $10,000 to help fund the not-for-profit Northern B.C. Helicopter Emergency Response Operations Society (H.E.R.O.S.) in its efforts to bring a dedicated rapid-response air ambulance helicopter service to Prince George.

The H.E.R.O.S base of operations will be staffed by flight/maintenance crews and paramedics, and its helicopter will be ready to launch within minutes of receiving an emergency call. Pilots can be equipped with night-vision technology to allow night-time flights to remote areas in most weather conditions. The H.E.R.O.S. organization will work together with the B.C. Ambulance Service and other first responders, Northern Health, all three levels of government and First Nations to develop an operational plan.

Regina-based Brandt Group of Companies announced today that they have surpassed a major financial milestone: $1 billion in annual revenue. To show their appreciation to the customers, employees, and communities who have helped them reach this level of success, Brandt will be giving back more than $3 million before the end of 2012.

"We owe it all to a great team of employees and loyal customers," says Brandt Chairman Gavin Semple. "We couldn't have done it without them."

"Few companies ever achieve a billion in annual revenue. Even fewer give it back," says Brandt President Shaun Semple. "We are very grateful and we want to say thanks by giving back over $3 million to our employees, our customers, and our communities. We know that it's their support that helped make this happen - so it's only fitting that we'd include them in a significant way as we celebrate this accomplishment."
